Why ordinary life is more interesting than we think
Someone else’s Tuesday morning is a small mystery. Fifty of your own are a story.

Social media trained us to share highlights: holidays, meals, milestones. Over time the ordinary days, which are most of them, disappeared from view.
But ordinary is where life actually happens. The bus. The sink. The supermarket at 21:40.
Other people’s ordinary is never ordinary
A kettle in Osaka looks different from a kettle in Lagos. A walk home in snow is a different walk home. The details you would never photograph are exactly the ones that tell you where you are.
Ordinary is where life actually happens.
Your own, over time
One ordinary moment does not mean much. A year of them shows you how you actually lived: the winter mornings, the summer evenings, the same kitchen again and again.
